PATRICK J. O'SHEA concentrates his practice on intellectual property matters, including contested patent, transactional and licensing matters, patent preparation and prosecution, and patent litigation. He has substantial experience counseling and resolving domestic and foreign disputes for publicly traded companies regarding patent rights and rendering expert opinions concerning patent matters.

Mr. O'Shea previously practiced in Boston for over ten years, initially as an associate and then as a partner at an intellectual property law firm. Prior to entering private practice Mr. O'Shea was an electrical engineer at the Hamilton Standard Division of United Technologies Corporation, and a patent agent and finally a patent attorney at the corporate headquarters of United Technologies Corporation.

In re Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Using Tungsten Metallization, Inv. No. 337-TA-648 (2008): represented Micronas GmbH before the United States International Trade Commission in its defense of a patent infringement action initiated by LSI Corporation relating to contact metallization in semiconductor devices.
Excel Dryer, Inc. v. American Dryer, Inc. (D. Mass. 2007): represented American Dryer in its defense of a patent infringement action relating to high speed hand dryers.
MG Ahrens Associates, Limited v. BabyZone.com, Inc. (D. Mass. 2008): represented MG Ahrens Limited, a New Zealand internet content provider, in its breach of contract action against BabyZone relating to an intellectual property licensing agreement.
Mayhew Steel Products, Inc. v. OTC Tools, a Division of SPX Corporation (D. Mass. 2007): represented Mayhew in its assertion of patent infringement relating to hand tools.
